The 10.4" LCD is manufactured by AU OPTRONICS, the result of a merger of Acer & Unipac creating the worlds 3rd largest LCD supplier. The B104SN02 offers a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels with a brightness of 350CD/m2 and high contrast ratio of 350:1.

The long backlight life makes this LCD ideal for applications requiring a long service life with low maintenance such as Internet Kiosk or Point of Sale systems.

A fast response time of 35ms makes it suitable for displaying video in these cost driven times. At only 11mm depth this unit can be accommodated in the foot print of most of it's competitors making it suitable to be considered for cost reduction programmes.

The B104SN02 is available for evaluation now either as a component or as part of a complete kit suitable for integrating into your end product.

MAJOR AU OPTRONICS MILESTONE:

In September 2001, AU Optronics was formed through the merger of Acer Display Technologies Inc. and Unipac Optoelectronics Corp. The two companies both contributed to the development of Taiwan's TFT-LCD history. After the merger, AU has embraced the best practices from both companies.

Currently AU operates three 3.5-generation and one fourth-generation TFT- LCD fabs, two module assembly facilities and one R&D fab specializing in low temperature poly silicon TFT and organic LED. In addition, AU is constructing a module assembly and logistics facility in Suzhou, China operates commercially as of Q3 2002. The fifth-generation of TFT-LCD fab expected to begin commercial production in Taiwan from Q2 2003.

The company's sales revenue of 2001 was totally 1.093 billions USD and the net sales in Q1 2002 were 562,8 millions USD. The company's large-size TFT-LCD shipments increased by 70% comparing the same period last year. The projected sales revenue for 2002 will reach 2 billions USD.

AU business divided into 4 departments: Mobile, Desktop, Audio/Video and TV managed by 2 business units. TFT panel ranged from 1"5 up to 22" launching plan of large size extended up to 26", 30" and 32" in the near future. This extensive product range is suitable for wide industrial sectors in Europe.
