Low Tech Driver for High Quality, High Brightness LCD panel

Leading LCD manufacturers strive to produce higher quality products at ever lower prices. These two objections are diametrically opposed. However with a little lateral thinking and reverting to simpler interface idioms both of these goals have been achieve in this system builders kit, the K1024DRV-EU-B.

NEC's latest 15" Colour TFT XGA Panel, NL10276AC30-07, utilises a dual channel channel interface with half the overall data rate of similar panels. This fact alone enables lower cost drive electronics to be integrated within the TFT panel. Lower cost driver cards from Displaze make use of this feature optimising the high quality images whilst keep costs down. Life time costs of a system using the 15" panel should not be an issue as the panel has the facility to the replace backlight.

The K1024DRV-EU-B comes complete with all the necessary cables to connect NEC's highest brightness standard panel offering 400Cd/m2 and 170 degrees viewing angle. The driver card accepts video input from RGB graphics, PAL/NTSC and SVHS sources of resolutions up to UXGA and refresh rates up to 85Hz.

On screen menus provide user control over a comprehensive range of image manipulation features such as display format, video source format along with the standard Brightness and Contrast adjustment, etc. Other features of the driver card include VESA Power Management support and Plug & Play Operation.
